Spoiler Warning: Issue Six.

Spoiler Warning.  Issue Six.

(NOTE, THIS HAD BE SCHEDULED FOR EARLIER BUT BLOGGER DIDN'T LIKE ME, MY BAD)

This is going to be a new style of discussion for things that haven't ended yet. There is an obvious spoiler warning attached and these are all my best aproximations of what's to come.

Our topic today? The Dark Knight Rises

Welcome to Issue Six. In Today's discussion I'll lead us along a road that answers the question of what's going to happen in The Dark Knight Rises.

So Let us see where we left off:  Batman has become a broken man.  His lady love was murdered, his one real hope had to be put down,  he was strained to have to use unethical means to becoming the hero gotham deserves, and was forced to take the guise of the masked vigilante instead of a hero.
James Gordon has been promoted to Commisioner and left as the only person who knows Batman's secret.   That he didn't kill those five people.  But what is also hinted is that Gordon knows Bruce Wayne is Batman.  Gordon is one of a small handful of people who has ever seen Batman up close and been around Bruce Wayne more than a few times.  It wouldn't be crazy to assume he figured it out.
The Joker has been locked away.  The Falcone family has been stopped.  Sal Maroni's mob has been stopped.  Sal killed.  Corruption ran deep into Gordon's special Major Crimes Unit.  The Bat Signal was destroyed.   Scarecrow was locked up.  Ra's Al Ghul was left to die in an explosion.  And a new major facate of the Nolan Batman's motivations was created when Rachel Dawes died.

So The Dark Knight Rises has a very long road ahead of it.
We know the film will feature a beat cop played by Joeseph Gordon Levitt who is assigned to the MCU, we know Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle and that they have made a costume for her.  We know Tom Hardy is playing Bane.  We know in cameo form Ra's Al Ghul, Liam Neesen, is returning and another actor, Josh Pence, is playing a young version of the character.  Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, "a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.  Nestor Campbell is returning as the Mayor and Mathew Modine is playing a character called Nixon.  Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman reprise their roles.

So how will this all go down?  First off, it is widely believed that the League of Shadows from Batman Begins will return.  It is very likely that this reformed League will be lead by Bane.  The inclusion of a younger Ra's implies that we will either get flashbacks to Ra's training Bane or that he will be a rejuvinated version of the character.  The rejuvination is implied because of some pictures of some green screened pits that may be Ra's infamous Lazzarus pits.    So let us assume the more logical theory.  That the Lazzarus pits help rejuvinate one, not nessisarily resurrect or reincarnate or regenerate one.  That it makes you stronger.  But if you use it to much it can become addictive.  That Bane was the only other man allowed to use this pit and trained to be Ra's second in command.  He has taken the liquid from the pit with him and he uses it.  This is the new version of Venom.
OR  the for fantastical version:  We show young Ra's discovering the Pits and using it for the first time.  We jump forward in time and see him use it once more.   Durring this we find out that he has a second in comand and a daughter.  The League implants these two into Gotham city to bring down the man that killed her actual father, and his surrogate father.  Or so it would appear.  Their actual purpose is to recover the body of Ra's Al Ghul and resurect him.
Regardless when the film opens we will find that Bane is in Prison.  In a six minute opening reminiscent of The Dark Knight, we will watch Bane break out of prison allowing numerous other criminals to escape, including the scarecrow.  This prison break will leave Gordon hurt.  In fact I'm fairly certain Bane will go out of his way to badly hurt Gordon during this sequence.  Gordon meets with Bruce Wayne and has to convince him he needs to be Batman again, without revealing that he knows he's Batman.   Afterwards we find that one of the Wayne Enterprises board members is trying to help Bruce cope with his second tragedy.  She too is helping Wayne to be inspired to become Batman again.  Bane begins a personal attack on Wayne Enterprises prompting Batman to confront him.  In this confrontation Bane beats Batman and badly wounds him.
In the middle we will find that Bruce has found another love in Selina Kyle.  And Catwoman.
Batman will continue his quest to save Gotham.
But before the film ends two things will happen.  The first is that Miranda Tate is revealed as Talia Al Ghul, daughter of Ra's.  The second is Batman and Bane will both die.
It seems more and more likely that this Batman movie is about creating the heroic legend of Batman and leave him as a ghostly shadow of Gotham.

Of course we will also see the MCU pursue both Batman, possibly outing him as Bruce Wayne, and Bane.
We will likely see the return of the Falcone crime family, if only for the fact that Selina Kyle is the lost child of that family in the comics.  We MIGHT see some villian cameos but they won't be overt.  I could also see us getting a final brief appearence of Scarecrow.  I'm sure in 6-8 months when we get the full trailer for this movie I will come back and revisit this once again.  But for now, this is my vision of the Dark Knight Rises as has been revealed.

Bane WILL BREAK BATMAN.

Some interesting notes from between the time this article was written and posted:
Bane was shown to be involved in a prison break filming, though it looks like he was in charge of the break out, and not actually being broken out.
Further more, a second Batmobile was seen but this was in the original camo colors and therefore it might be part of some sequences in the past, possibly being involved in the original creation of the Tumbler.  Or a second Tumbler was created.  More info as it is revealed.
