1. What caused the new 52/ DCnU?
a: Barry himself went back in time to try and stop the Reverse Flash from killing his mother but instead opened up a whole can of worms cracking open the the world of Flashpoint. In closing the flashpoint world, a mysterious person said some mumbojumbo and united Vertigo, Wildstorm, and DC into one universe without actually destroying Vertigo. Ta Da!
2. What does this mean for us readers?
a: It means that while most stories are going to be still in continuity, they likely won't be readable as such. I.E. you can't just read The Flash: Dasterdly Death of the Rogues without doing some selective editing to fit it into the DCnU.
3. So what you are saying is...
a: That this might as well be a new starting point, but one that will be equally confusing to both new and old readers, and possibly sending both packing.
4. Wasn't the entire reason to do this relaunch to make everything new reader friendly?
a. Yep.
5. What should books should I be reading?
a. Books that interest you, as always.
6. What happend to character X?
a. It hasn't been revealed yet. It's likely characters X, Y, and Z will show up as supporting characters, but for now said characters should be treated as having been destroyed by Barry Allen.
7. So Barry Allen is now Superboy Prime?
a. Only in the sense that both performed non-sensical revisals of the DCU. And that both were written by Geoff Johns. Huh.
