What does the DCnU titles mean to you?(Part 1 of 5)

Absolutely nothing, say it again.
Hoorah.

Okay but seriously, Let's talk about these titles.

1.Justice League By Geoff Johns and Jim Lee
This one honestly makes the most sense, but based on a total infomation we've been given, it might be a book set in the past. The creators are the two most influential parties at DC right now, with the most creative control so it makes sense they are on the flagship title(or what should be the flagship title). Geoff Johns is the DCU's Brian Bendis so they want Justice League to be their Avengers.

What else do we know:
Of the titles, I feel like this is the one we know the most. Jim Lee has promised he won't F#$% this one up. His words. We know that they all LOOK younger. And the cast feaures Aquaman, Superman, Batman(Bruce Wayne), the Flash, Green Lantern(Hal Jordan), Wonder Woman, and Cyborg. Of course Cyborg kind of stands out. But knowing that Geoff Johns wanted him in a more prominent postion, even refering to him as the most relatable character since we humans use technology so much we basically are Cyborgs.

What is expected:
Geoff Johns will write 12 scripts for Jim Lee and Jim will draw three of them before falling behind.

The official line:

2.Wonder Woman #1 by Brian Azzarello & Cliff Chiang
Brian is a genius at writing good, gritty stories. So what does that mean for Wonder Woman? Besides the new new mandate that all women must wear pants? Who knows! I'm excited for it, but ultimately it isn't a huge topic.

What else do we know:
Almost nothing. Wonder Woman has pants.

Then what do we want to know:
I want to know what kind of continuity changes we shall see, how much of the old Wonder Woman and the Odysey Wonder Woman are going to be implemented.

The official line:New York Times bestselling writer Brian Azzarello, author of The Joker and 100 Bullets, teams up with the immensely talented artist Cliff Chiang (Neil Young's Greendale) for WONDER WOMAN #1, an exciting new series starring the DC Universe's greatest superheroine. The cover to issue #1 is by Cliff Chiang.

What is expected:
Not much, this was one of the suprise announcements that'll certainly be interesting.

3.Aquaman #1 by Geoff Johns & Ivan Reis
This is likely to be Geoff Johns new legend. For that last few years he's been working hard on the Green Lantern mythos but instead it looks like he really wants to hamemr home Aquaman as being totally awesome. And it is about time.

What else we know:
We know that Aquaman's mythos established in Brightest Day is here to stay. We know that Mera and Aqualad are expected to be featured, and we know the Geoff Johns definately has plans for the character beyond one year.

What is Expected:
With his Brightest Day Fixture, and Geoff Johns name on the cover, this title is likely to prove to finally put Aquaman on the map beyond his joke of a character on Superfriends.

The Official line:
Geoff Johns, one of comics' greatest storytellers, reunites with GREEN LANTERN and BRIGHTEST DAY collaborator Ivan Reis to bring you a thrilling new take on the fan-favorite hero of the sea in AQUAMAN #1. The cover to issue #1 is by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.

4.The Flash #1 by Francis Manapul & Brian Buccellato
I adore Francis Manapul's art on The Flash so this is fantastic, but I'm not familiar with the other artist on board and I'm not certain of either's writing talents so this will be interesting.

What else do we know:
That we will know more about it after Flashpoint.

What is expected:
Francis hasn't been known to fall behind on his books, and sharing duties with another creator should keep this book on schedule. What is going to happen with the book is unknown.

The official line:
Rising superstar Francis Manapul, fresh off his acclaimed run on THE FLASH with Geoff Johns, makes his comics writing debut in THE FLASH #1, sharing both scripting and art duties with Brian Buccellato. The Flash knows he can't be everywhere at once, but what happens when he faces an all-new villain who can? The cover to issue #1 is by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato.

5.The Fury of Firestorm #1 by Ethan Van Sciver, Gail Simone & Yildray Cinar
Gail Simone on a book is really wonderful, but the character doesn't do a lot for me.

What else do we know:
That Gail Simone is really excited about this book.

What is expected:
That it'll get dark but ultimately won't be a big hit.

The official line:
Welcome to a major new vision of the Nuclear Man as writers Ethan Van Sciver and Gail Simone team up with artist Yildiray Cinar to deliver THE FURY OF FIRESTORM #1. Jason Rusch and Ronnie Raymond are two high school students, worlds apart – and now they're drawn into a conspiracy of super science that bonds them forever in a way they can't explain or control. The cover to issue #1 is by Ethan Van Sciver.

6.The Savage Hawkman #1 by Tony Daniel & Philip Tan
Tony Daniel's work on Batman has been good so to see him on another book is going to be quite the experiment. Tan's art on the other hand feels poor in my taste.

What else do we know:
Almost nothing. We don't even know who is staring in this book.

What is expected:
Tony Daniel has a habbit of not being able to write very many issues in a row and as such he isn't expected to stay regular.

The official line: Batman writer Tony Daniel will team up with artist Philip Tan (GREEN LANTERN: AGENT ORANGE, THE OUTSIDERS) for THE SAVAGE HAWKMAN #1. Carter Hall's skill at deciphering lost languages has led him to a job with an archeologist who specializes in alien ruins – but will the doctor's latest discovery spread an alien plague through New York City? No matter the personal cost, Carter Hall must don his cowl and wings and become the new, savage Hawkman to survive. The cover to issue #1 is by Philip Tan.

7.Green Arrow #1 by JT Krul & Dan Jurgens
I love Green Arrow but hate JT Krul so there I am on that.

What else do we know: More Oliver Queen.

What is expected: This is likely to be a continuation of J.T.'s current run on the character.
'
The official line: Oliver Queen is an orphan who grew up to fight crime as the Green Arrow, a billionaire playboy who uses his fortune to become a superhero – able to fight the most powerful super-villains in the universe with nothing but a bow and arrow. JT Krul will write GREEN ARROW #1 with art by superstar artist Dan Jurgens. The cover to issue #1 is by Brett Booth.

8.Justice League International #1 by Dan Jurgens & Aaron Lopresti
I know nothing about the creators but I like the JLI so I might give it a chance.

What else do we know: Nothing.

What is expected: An expansion on the recent generation lost is expected.

The official line: A team of internationally-drafted superheroes fight each other and their bureaucratic supervisors as much as they do global crime in JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL #1 from writer Dan Jurgens and artist Aaron Lopresti. The cover to issue #1 is by Aaron Lopresti.

9.Mister Terrific #1 by Eric Wallace & Roger Robinson
I don't care for the charcter and none of the creators are must read.

What else do we know/is expected: Nothing.

The official line:The world's third-smartest man – and one of its most eligible bachelors – uses his brains and fists against science gone mad in MISTER TERRIFIC #1, the new series from writer Eric Wallace and artist Roger Robinson. The cover to issue #1 is by J.G. Jones.

10.Captain Atom #1 by JT Krul & Freddie Williams II
Yeah...

What else do we know/is expected: Nothing.

The official line: Captain Atom has all the power in the world, but no hope of saving himself. Charged by nuclear energy, possessing vast molecular powers, he has the potential to be a god among men – a hero without limits. But the question is this: Will he lose himself in the process? JT Krul and artist Freddie Williams II take the character in a bold new direction in CAPTAIN ATOM #1. The cover to issue #1 is by Stanley "Artgem" Lau.
